Solutions / Toll Plazas

Every misclassified vehicle costs you money.

Toll revenue leaks happen silently. A truck classified as an LCV. An extra axle missed. A disputed transaction with no evidence. Across thousands of daily transactions, even a 2% misclassification rate compounds into significant revenue loss.

Challenges

Where toll revenue leaks today

Four failure modes that compound across every lane, every shift, and every plaza.

Misclassification at the booth

Manual or basic sensor-based classification misses axle counts and vehicle categories. Every error is lost revenue.

No evidence for disputes

When a driver challenges the toll category, operators have no image proof to back the charge.

Lifted axle fraud

Multi-axle trucks retract axles to pay a lower toll. Without visual classification, this goes undetected.

Not ready for MLFF

India is moving toward multilane free flow tolling. Systems deployed today that are not MLFF-ready will need to be replaced.

What changes at your toll plaza

From manual classification to automated revenue protection

Correct toll rate for every vehicle. AI classifies vehicles into 18+ categories. No more manual guesswork.

Evidence for every transaction. High-resolution day and night images tied to each vehicle passage. Disputes resolved with proof.

Fraud detection. Lifted axle and mismatched vehicle-class attempts flagged automatically.

MLFF-ready architecture. Lane ANPR and ATCC support booth tolling today, with an optional Global Shutter upgrade path for GNSS-based free flow.

How Stellarview protects your toll revenue

Every lane, classified and logged

  1. 01

    Vehicle approaches the lane

Lane ANPR captures the plate and full vehicle image for every passage, day and night.

  2. 02

    ANPR identifies the vehicle

Plate read, vehicle type, make, model, and color profiled instantly.

  3. 03

    ATCC classifies the toll category

AI counts axles and classifies into 18+ vehicle types for the correct toll rate.

  4. 04

    Evidence stored

Timestamped, lane-tagged image and classification data logged for audit.

Every transaction classified, logged, and auditable from booth to back office.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about toll deployments

How many vehicle classes does it detect?

The system classifies 18+ vehicle types including 2-wheelers, 3-wheelers, cars, LCVs, buses, mini LCVs, trucks (2-axle through 6+ axle), tractors, heavy construction machinery, and goods autos.

Does it work at night?

Yes. Lane ANPR captures clear plate and vehicle images in day and night conditions using IR-assisted imaging. Recon Global Shutter is optional for tolling and can be added where free-flow or high-speed capture needs it.

What is MLFF readiness?

MLFF (Multi-Lane Free Flow) means vehicles pass through at highway speed without stopping at a booth. The default toll stack is Lane ANPR and ATCC. Recon Global Shutter can be added for GNSS-based free-flow use cases when those requirements apply.

Is Global Shutter included by default for tolling?

No. Toll plazas are deployed with Lane ANPR by default. Recon Global Shutter can be used for tolling when needed, but it is not the default camera for booth and hybrid lane deployments.

Can it integrate with our existing toll management software?

Yes. The system offers SDK APIs, RTSP streaming, and cloud sync for integration with third-party toll management platforms.

How does it handle lifted axle fraud?

ATCC uses visual AI classification rather than in-ground sensor loops, making it harder to defeat through axle retraction. The system also cross-references vehicle make/model against expected axle count.

What accuracy does NATRAX certify?

NATRAX certifies radar-based speed detection up to 230 kmph. Plate recognition accuracy is 98% across all plate types in day and night conditions.

How is evidence stored?

Evidence images are stored locally on the edge device and can sync to your central server or cloud storage for long-term retention.
